Services & Pricing

What does your standard service include?

  • All pre-scattering arrangements made with you, your mortuary, and/or a designated loved one
  • Receiving and careful handling of cremains/ashes and all related documents
  • Respectful, careful scattering of ashes at a scenic location within the Rocky Mountains
  • Thoughtful on-site reading of any statements, eulogy, Scripture, and/or prayer immediately prior to or following the scattering (as requested)
  • A time/date stamped photograph of the scattering
  • The GPS coordinates of the scattering location
  • A beautiful, notarized “certificate of dispersal”

What is the cost for your standard scattering service?

$500. Payment may be made in the form of a cashier's check, money order, or by using PayPal. With the exception of PayPal usage, payment is to be mailed with a completed “Ash Scattering Authorization Form” and the appropriately packaged cremated remains. (Click on “Shipping of Ashes & Forms” at the top of this page for more information.)

An exception to the above process is the purchase of a prepayment plan. See below for details.

Can you provide a DVD recording of the scattering?

Yes. We can do this in lieu of the time/date stamped photograph. The length of the professionally-produced DVD will be approximately two minutes (longer pending extensive, requested readings). The actual scattering will take only seconds, but the recording of it will be encased by beautiful Colorado mountain scenes along with appropriate titling, nature sounds, and your requested reading(s). Because strong mountain breezes are typically present, lending to an elegant scattering, all scattering-site readings are re-read and recorded for the DVD in a sound studio. The additional cost for the DVD is $225.

Do you scatter the ashes of pets?

Yes. The process and pricing are the same.

How do I arrange for a scattering?

Click on “Shipping of Ashes & Forms” at the top of this page to receive more information. You may also email us or call us at 303-304-9838. Our office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Mountain Standard Time, Monday - Friday with the exception of national holidays.

Where in Colorado do you typically scatter cremated ashes?

  • Cotton Wood Pass (on the Continental Divide, near Buena Vista, CO)
  • Guenella Pass (near Georgetown, CO)
  • Kenosha Pass (on the Colorado Trail, between Fairplay and Shanee, CO)
  • Lookout Mountain (near Golden, CO)
  • Mount Bierstadt (near Georgetown, CO)
  • Mount Evans (near Idaho Springs, CO)
  • Mount Falcon (between Evergreen and Morrison, CO)
  • Mount Morrison (Morrison, CO)
  • Shrine Pass (near Vail, CO)
  • Squaw Pass (Evergreen, CO)
  • Waterton Canyon (near Littleton, CO)

May we request one of the above locations for “our scattering”?

Yes; however, if the scattering is to occur in the winter or early spring, some locations may not be accessible due to the closing of roads and trails because of snow. (All scattering locations require some hiking.) Should this be the case, we will, in accordance with your stated request, postpone the scattering until weather permits or select another, accessible location.

May we request a Colorado scattering location other than those listed above?

Yes, but in addition to the seasonal weather restrictions mentioned above, your cost may be greater due to our increased travel and/or hiking time. Special scattering site arrangements will need to be discussed and determined via email or phone conversation. We will do our best to honor your special request.

May arrangements for the scattering of ashes be made in advance of one's death?

Yes. A prepayment of $250 (half the current total cost) will guarantee the complete standard scattering service at today's cost regardless of cost increases that may have occurred at the time of the service. To arrange for prepayment, please click on “Shipping of Ashes & Forms” at the top of this page and complete the “Prepayment Form.”
